What it is all about ....

The first R&B-Bands were established in the mid 1940´s in America. The music of the well known Big Bands from the 30s and 40s advanced to Jazz. Radiostations were not able to pay expensive Big Bands for their musical entertainment anymore and played their records instead. As a consequence the Big Bands lost a fair amount of their income. Instead of the Big Bands, small bands performed in the line up of a rhythm-group, one or two saxophones, rhythm-guitar and piano. These combos were geared up to entertain the dancing audience. “Lindyhop”, which developed from a melting pot of difference dance cultures, was danced to their impulsive rhythms. The “Lindyhop” scene reached its peak out in the Savoy ballroom of Harlem. Because of the affinity to the music of the 40´s and the enthusiasm for “Lindyhop”, Joe and Werner 2007 brought up the idea to form a vintage-Rhythm & Blues Band in the style of Blues Shouters like Wynonie Harris, Big John Greer, Roy Brown and Tiny Bradshaw. With the demand for a dancing band being so big, they quickly had the repertoire from their substantial music collection of Jump Blues and R&B tracks. Mika was swiftly convinced of the idea and the music program was compiled. The liaison of five musicians with the pretence to make real music with real musical instruments led to a new band with the unmistakable vintage rhythm & blues sound were no foot can stand still
